Epilogue....

I stopped by the cabin to see what the new owners have done with the place - very happy to see all the great things they have done with it. They redid the stairs, added a few windows in the peak, replaced the bargin windows I had found with really nice windows, added a deck off the back, stained both the garage and house a very cool color and as you can see they are adding a very impressive porch on the front.

WoW! Simply awesome that you made this house. I am currently researching building a log cabin of my own and have read your Blog from beginning to end. Nice job in documenting all of your efforts and the wonderful home you built. I am planning on taking the BUTT and PASS class in Vegas. Sorry to hear of your loss, but no one can take away what you accomplished.

Wow there is another structure that is being made. My fascination with log-cabins can be traced back to my youth buy mine is relatively smaller to the instinct that i almost re-live that i am living in cabin while in reality in am in my wife's wooden shed lol.

How does the new porch get sealed against the existing log walls?

To be honest I don't know how the new owner sealed the porch to the cabin. Next time I stop by I'll check it out.
