End of an adventure

Well - the economy in Michigan tanked and I had to sell the cabin. I took down this blog in February but now that my grief period is over I realize it still was a great adventure and regardless if I got to keep the cabin I truly loved every step of the way. So I decided to open the blog back up and share it with you once again....

Enjoy!

Hey Tim, thank you for opening your blog back up. Your journey has been an inspiration to those of us still in the planning stages. I'm sorry to hear you had to sell. I wish you and your family well in your future adventures.

Hi Tim,
Thumbs up for the excellent construction and effort. Too bad this adventure ended on a sour note.
Still, the know how and the joy of execution are there and that cannot be taken away.
I would like to ask you what's the object in the sky in the pic dated Monday, October 3, 2005 titled:
Oinkel Toad! aka my brother Todd
TIA!

Mr. Heger, thank you so much for your inspirational blog. loved the pictures. SO SORRY to hear you had to sell. I sure hope you decide to build again. what a great skill to teach your son and daughter!!

we took the LHBA class too and my son (14), husband and father will start building on our land in a few months. we can only proceed in hope and having faith in God's plan, though your story of having to sell put fear in my heart.

thanks again for your inspiration.
by the way, were you weekend builders or did you build foll time? just curious. thanks again.

Hi Tim,

I am so sorry you had to sell, and boy, don't we understand as well- we moved to N. MI., bought a few acres, and of course we all know what happened with the economy in Michigan, Northern in particular...we had to leave and put our dream on hold for another time- but we haven't given up! I haven't read your entire blog yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

Hi,
I just found and enjoyed your blog and am sorry you had to sell the cabin. I'm building a tiny version myself, all with hand tools. It's very different in scale, purpose, and method, but like yours it's a labor of love, and like you I set up a blog to chronicle my progress. Mine's at http://coldholler.blogspot.com/ and I welcome comments or any suggestions.

Take care,
Will

Wow! I have followed this blog for years but haven't been here in a while. I have so enjoyed the step by step and have considered it somewhat of a refresher course for LHBA. Anyway, see you had to sell hit me like a death in the family. I'm SO sorry!! But thank you for putting your web site back up and letting us see all the work you have done. I hope you will be able to build a new one in the future!!

This guy and people like him have more tenacity than 99% of on planet earth.

My wife and I had been saving for the past 8 years to accomplish the same thing. Unfortunately my marriage broke apart and my x claims the near $80,000 we saved is hers.

Women are evil bitches.
